Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This page describes how eCourtDate, Inc. ("eCourtDate", "we") handles data in the eCourtDate Chatbot API (the "API") and on this documentation site. It supplements the eCourtDate privacy policy, which governs the eCourtDate platform as a whole.
This documentation site
This site is a static, read-only site. It has no sign-in, no forms, and no advertising, and it serves all fonts and scripts from its own domain. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to serve and secure the site.
Data the API processes
The API processes the data your agency submits in order to answer questions: files you upload, pages you ask it to crawl, the text extracted from them, the messages in each chat completion or conversation, and the answers it generates. eCourtDate processes this data on behalf of your agency and uses it only to provide the service. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
Requests are authenticated with API keys scoped to your account, and the data in your knowledge base is isolated per account.
Retention
- Knowledge base documents: retained until your agency deletes them. Deleting a document removes the stored file, its extracted text, and its index entries.
- Conversations: stored for your account and removed when you delete them.
The authoritative behavior is published in the security guide and the OpenAPI specification.
Security
All API traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Access is controlled by API keys with per-key scopes, issued and activated for your account by eCourtDate. Contact your eCourtDate representative to rotate or revoke a key.
Changes
We may update this page as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
